    Course Information

    Course Duration: 1 day

Pre-course preparation for our Emergency First Aid training includes 1 hour of reading. All first aid handbooks related to Workplace First Aid will be provided prior to the course.

    Overview:

The Emergency First Aid course incorporates a range of activities, including written tasks, reading exercises, and physical activities. These components are designed to facilitate comprehensive learning and engagement throughout the First Aid Training course. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level, ensuring they are prepared for effective Workplace First Aid.

    Attendance:

Attendance at the Emergency First Aid course is required, along with completion of all written and practical assessments related to First Aid Training. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms like a cold, flu, stomach upset, or COVID-19, please refrain from attending the Workplace First Aid course.

    Clothing and Footwear:

Due to the practical nature of this Emergency First Aid training course, learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Trousers and flat shoes are recommended for better stability and movement during Workplace First Aid activities. For safety reasons, open-toe sandals and similar shoes are not permitted. As the room will be well ventilated, please also bring warm clothing to remain comfortable throughout the day.

For the course you will need:

Please bring a photographic ID on the first day of the Emergency First Aid course for registration purposes. Ensure you have a black pen and a note pad for taking notes during the First Aid Training. Remember to pack your own refreshments for the day (please ensure that drinks vessels have a screw top lid), as this is important for maintaining energy during the Workplace First Aid training.

    Method of Assessment:

4 x Practical assessments (mandatory) for Emergency First Aid training, 1 x Practical assessment (optional), and 1 x Theory assessment (multiple-choice question paper) focused on Workplace First Aid.

    Support for Additional Needs:

We understand that some participants may have specific learning or physical needs, especially in courses like Emergency First Aid and other First Aid Training programs. Please contact us before the course begins so we can discuss your requirements confidentially and ensure proper support throughout your learning experience, particularly in the context of Workplace First Aid.

    Requalification Requirements:

This qualification in Emergency First Aid is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner needs to retake the First Aid Training before the expiry date to remain qualified in Workplace First Aid.

    Refresher Training:

We recommend that Learners complete annual refresher training in Emergency First Aid to maintain competency and stay up to date with any changes to first aid procedures. This training is essential for ensuring effective response in critical situations.

Recommended annual training / refresher qualification:

Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (RFQ), which is an integral part of comprehensive First Aid Training for the workplace.
